When using a top Chinese ink pad, comparing to the most in the market, the first distinguished feature is the ink pad dose not stick to the seal. The tinny blank parts in the stamp are much less. Actually, after one thousand years, the stamp will be keep well. The high end ink pad is made by the traditional materials and methods, which are as same as those on the ancient painting in the museums.
Usually, the ink pad in the container consists three important components: Oil, Color, Base. These three key factors of the  high grade ink pad, for example, Jiangsixutang, Xileng,  are expensive nature integrates.

Artemisia argyi only from Liancheng, Fujian is dried, groud, flited along with other complex processes to produce moxa --the base of the ink stick. Cinnabar is used to produce Vermilion, mixed with premium castor oil. These are critical for capability of stamp for centuries.
